Tiffany A. Green-Hood Season 1 Episode 13

Feel free to leave us a review 🙂

We explore how entrepreneurs and authors can create multiple income streams by leveraging their existing knowledge into high-value digital products, particularly focusing on selling to corporations rather than individuals.

• Digital products represent one of the most accessible ways to create passive income
• License your ebooks to corporations, schools, and organizations for $2,500-$7,000 instead of selling for $17
• Start thinking at a higher level by pursuing government contracts and institutional buyers
• Change your mindset and stop having "broke conversations" that limit your potential
• Set up professional systems like Stripe payment processing and Stan's Store to be ready when opportunities arise
• Focus on building an email list of people who want your solutions, not just social media followers
• Create multiple income streams within your existing expertise: coaching, courses, licensing, speaking, merchandise
• Be selective about opportunities and partnerships - everything isn't about money

Hey, it's good to be back.

Speaker 2:

How are you guys today? This is Tiffany A Greenhood. This is Published in Black Radio, so I hope everybody enjoyed their holiday. I want to hop right in and I'm doing a part two on what we talked about last week. Last week, we talked about income streams, having seven income streams and just some different ideas that you can implement that are not hard to start, you know, don't cost a lot of money and all that. So, in the one main thing that I really really focused on was digital products. Okay, digital products. If you have not created a digital product for whatever kind of business you have, you are definitely leaving money on the table. I want to encourage you guys to stop sitting on money. That's my entire goal, okay, for last week and for today. Stop sitting on money, and so that's one way that you definitely are sitting on money.

Speaker 2:

When it comes to digital products, any industry that you are in can definitely use a digital product. You're teaching someone how to get from step A to step B. Right, people are looking for information. We talked about how the world is revolved around information, okay, and so a lot of times, you don't even know the information that you need until you encounter somebody like me, or you know, podcast, um, spend some time on youtube. It's all kind of how-to videos out here. You can download canva I talked about that canvacom. Well, I don't know what that is. Go on youtube and find out, okay. And so, um, and you can create your own digital product within minutes.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so today I want to kind of do like a part two and talk about some of the other things that surround you know, creating your digital product, creating those seven streams of income, because what I don't want you to do, and what I see often, what I've seen often over the years, is that we create seven streams and only one is making money, or none of them are making money, especially if you still work a nine-to-five. So it's not an urgency right until something happens. And so we're not waiting until something happens. We're going to be prepared for whatever happens. That will still be good, okay, and 2025 is definitely the year to tap into that. So I want to tap into outside of digital products. We also talked about coaching courses.

Speaker 2:

Okay, one thing I don't think I mentioned was licensing. Licensing what does that mean, tiffany? Do you know you can license your ebook out? I'm sure you didn't know that you can license your ebook. You can create an ebook, right, and it ain't got to be nothing real deep, but you can create an ebook showing someone how to do something and you can sell it, see, see, we don't think, I don't think on a low level, okay, so you know.

Speaker 2:

The normal process is you know, you create an ebook, you sell it $17. Again, like I said last week, I've seen people make six figures, five figures on a simple $17 ebook, right? Well, how about you created an ebook showing how to do X Y Z, seven steps to X Y Z, or how to do this, this and that? Right, again, you're showing them how to get from one step to the next, okay, them how to get from one step to the next, okay, how about, instead of you selling that for $17, how about you get paid $2,500 for it? Right, because you're selling it to a corporation, a business, a nonprofit, a college, a university, a school.

Speaker 2:

People are looking for information all the time and they need the tools to continue to do what it is that they do. So don't ever sit on. Well, ain't nobody, really? Ain't nobody looking, you have no idea? Okay, that can be your next. I mean twenty five hundred. It took me an hour to create it and then I sell it for twenty five hundred. I've seen five thousand, I've seen seven thousand.

Speaker 2:

One e-book, because what it becomes is it becomes a curriculum for the company or the school or the nonprofit organization, whatever it is. Right now we think in corporate and see, that's what I really, really want to tap into today. Is this seven streams of income. Just take one, okay, and not just focus on selling to people, because a lot of times we start our businesses, we selling to people, we are trying to sell to people and individuals. Stop thinking on that level, start thinking on a higher level. You say you want to think big, you want to go to the next level. Then start doing things on the next level. Next level is government contracts, local contracts, state contracts. Hello, did you know you could tap into a website, your state procurements website, and see what local, state, local and state contracts that they have available that you can bid on? Yes, absolutely so. Yes, you can sell one ebook for $2,500, $7,000, $5,000, maybe $10,000.

Speaker 2:

Okay, information is powerful and I need you not to sit on the information that you have in your head. I need you not to sit on the gift that you have that you did not go to school for. This is all in that circle. Okay, everybody ain't got to go to school for everything the stuff I do when I get paid for. I did not go to school for Nobody's school Period and, if I can really be honest honest I couldn't stand filling out applications, couldn't stand it. And I had some good jobs, what they call good jobs. Let's say that I had the state job, the government job. I had all that right.

Speaker 2:

But when you tap into the realm of utilizing your own gifts and not, um, depending on someone else to pay you, you want to tap into your own gifts. It's a whole different lifestyle, it's a different mindset and that's it's powerful. If you, if you can handle it, if you build for it and you stick in there, it's going to pay off, okay, so even if you still work another nine to five, a nine to five, one or two, whatever you got going on, tap into your own gifts, your side hustles, and turn them into legit businesses. Okay, getting paid for 2,500, 5,000 to 7,000 for one ebook is powerful. Don't let nobody tell you that. Okay, and I always say you cannot have voices around you.

Speaker 2:

Stop letting everybody in your ear, okay, cause that'd be a lot of times why you don't fall through with your goals and the things that you want to do, because you around the people that you can't even discuss that stuff with. I know I'm stepping on some toes right now and I'm meaning to do that because you need to cut off them dead conversations. Stop having broke conversations, stop letting people tell you competition is out here and all this old crazy stuff. No, let me tell you something until you tap in and you get by yourself and you tap into that power, tap into the way of the word of God that you go into church every Sunday evening, hello, then that's when you can experience building wealth, you can experience that increase that you've been praying for. It's right there. All you need to do is tap into it, okay.

Speaker 2:

So, whether it's taking a course, whether it's connecting with me and doing a consult with me, I'm very resourceful. Ok, go to publish with Tiffany dot com Book, a call Book, a discovery call. Ok, I have e-books on there that can help you in your position, your situation right now. They can teach you how to do X, y, z without you having to go and take a $10,000 course or paying a motivational speaker $50,000 to show you what you could have went and got yourself. You need a motivational speaker. Tap into some of my videos. Tap into your favorite motivational speaker on YouTube.

Speaker 2:

It's too many avenues out here that we're looking over and steady saying I'm just, I guess for me, I'm just tired of people hearing people say, oh, I don't know nobody, I don't know. Well, I didn't know. Well, I don't, I don't really have that. Oh, you got to have this, go get it, go get it. I wrote down. I was going to title this, this, this episode. Um, I was going to title this episode Shut Up, sit Down, do Something or Shut Up. That's what I was going to title this show, because we at that point either do something about it or shut up and sit down, period, okay. So I guess y'all say she fussing today. I'm always fussing because I want to see people do better, especially when it comes to authors. That's my lane, but in that lane I have business.

Speaker 2:

You know people that just have businesses and stuck and don't know what to do, and this could be something simple as creating a digital product. You know, setting up your account on Samgov and start looking for contracts in the industry that you have experience in. That's all it takes. Start conditioning your mindset, start thinking different. Some of y'all just need to start thinking different.

Speaker 2:

When you think different, different opportunities open up. You start to connect with different people. Sometimes you got to get out and go to different little events. It's all kind of free events. I was just on Eventbrite two days ago. It's so many free events out here going on that you can attend and meet people, have your business cards or your digital card or however you have your contact information ready, because people are out here looking for people that have what they need. Okay, and you want to be right there to have what they need and connect. And you never know what kind of big contract it can turn into Partnership, all that stuff. And we're going to take a break real quick question is will I ever leave you?

Speaker 3:

the answer is no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no, no, no, no, no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no no no, no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no.

Speaker 2:

The question is when you going to do something different. How about that? When you going to do something different, it's time to do something different. We are in July. We have five months left. Wait, wait, wait. Yeah, we got five months. We hit the five-month mark. And so what are you going to do different? It's time to do some things different.

Speaker 2:

Okay, and see, this show is only roughly 28 minutes, so I never have time to say absolutely everything I want to talk about. But now I just told y'all about thinking different, thinking on a different level. Right, about thinking different, thinking on a different level. Right, being able to create a manual or a blueprint for a company and sell your ebook for $2,500, $5,000, $7,000. Don't say what can't happen, okay, that's why you got to change your mindset. But what I also want to tap into today is having the platforms, having your platform set up so when the people do show up this is for all those business owners Listen have your systems in place. When the people show up, when they're ready to sign the contract, pay the invoice. We're not doing cash apps and sales. I talked about this before. Okay, set you up. I'm not gonna recommend PayPal. Okay, but set you up a Stripe account, stripe. I'm not totally against PayPal, but we we backed off of PayPal for reasons that they don't look out for the business owner. But but Stripe is very powerful.

Speaker 2:

Okay, you don't have a website. You can set up a one-stop shop like Stan's Store. They have Linktree Stan's Store. I prefer Stan's Store. That's where you can have all your links in one place. When you go to publishwithtiffanycom, you go to a website that has all my links in one place. Okay, and I still have websites in place. But for those that are just starting out, it's 29 bucks a month. You get 14 days free on stand store. Okay, and link tree used to have a um free um package. I'm not sure if they still offer, but there are simple ways to be ready.

Speaker 2:

When the people show up and as you grow, as your business grows guess what? Then you grow, then you can invest in something big. Then you can invest in a full website. But let's not have um a website as a reason that you cannot sell or you cannot do this or that. That's crazy. That's absolutely crazy.

Speaker 2:

If you're launching a book and your book is not releasing until another month from now, that don't mean you can't have nothing on your link. You should be collecting emails, you should be going live or when you post your content on social media. That's a whole, nother conversation. But as you're posting and communicating and building relationships, whether online or in person, you still should have a place for people to come and join your email list. That is your audience. That's your real audience. Followers they are not your audience, they just follow you, for whatever reason. That doesn't necessarily mean that they need what you have or they want what you have or they want to work with you. You want to start building an audience that's attracted to the solution that you provide.

Speaker 2:

Okay, we providing solutions out here. We providing solutions and answers and consultations. We trading our time for money on our own time? Okay, so, not not the time that we was trained to do with the nine to five, but on our own time. Like I say, book a call with me. That means you get on my calendar. You pay to get on my calendar. So now I'm in control of how much I charge per hour. Right, right now it's 400 today's price, not tomorrow's price, just fyi. Okay, so, but you got control of that.

Speaker 2:

So building seven streams don't necessarily mean you got to have brick and mortars. Five brick and mortar. Seven brick and mortars. No, it could be simple. Things like digital products. I'ma always go back to that. So we got digital downloads, bulk sales, um subscriptions. They got even on social media. When you get to a certain level on your account, you can offer subscriptions for people to get different little perks and stuff and it's like I clicked on one. It was like $2.99 a month. That money add up. You know you have um other membership sites that you can set up, as opposed to a website. You may not want a website where you're selling your products and services, but you may want a membership site where you can build a community and charge $20 a month, $30 a month, $47 a month and you're providing, you know, a platform to where you have different videos, different e-books or whatever the topic is. It's a community where you can go live with them once a month and they people pay for that. When you are giving them exactly what they need to get to the level that they want to get to, people will pay for that okay. So don't just think this seven streams is just something to talk about. It's definitely a goal, it's definitely something to build up to, but you can start exactly where you are. So that can be as simple as a digital product. That can be as simple as releasing your book and selling it.

Speaker 2:

Doing more than one book signing. I've seen authors who I don't know why it's been the norm that you just do a book signing when the book releases and then you don't do anything else. I don't know where that came from, but you could do as many book signings as you want to. You could do a book signing every month, you can do one every two months, four per year. Whatever it is that you want to do, you have to understand that when you have your own business and you're building your own wealth, you are in control. That's the power of it. At least, that's the part that I like. You in control. You set the price, you set the tone, you set the time. You determine who you partner with and who you don't. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2:

Use this armament can't connect with everybody. Everything ain't about a dollar either. So you have to make sure what's in it for you. You gotta, you gotta, think about it like that. What's in it for you. Just because they spending ten thousand dollars don't mean I want to work with them. Come on for real. I will turn down money period.

Speaker 2:

Some folks is headaches, so you have to be mindful. But guess what? I'm in control. So every opportunity is not going to be for you, but be prepared when the opportunity shows up. Be prepared to accept or decline. How about that? Be prepared to accept or decline opportunities that are presented to you, because everything is not for you. People are out here scamming and doing all kinds of crazy stuff. So you definitely want to connect with integrity and you want to make sure that it's a benefit for you and the barter system. Be careful with that. It's not always a benefit for you and the barter system be careful with that. It's not always a benefit for you. So just look, some little tips you can, you know, set to the side, write them down, but remember them when it's presented.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so, um, I do want to talk about um authors. Real quick, with the bulk sales, don't forget you can sell your books to schools, corporations, churches or programs. That's powerful. That's another powerful tip. I hope y'all be writing this stuff down and remember, if you miss the show, live on Rejoice 102, you can always go to PublishingBlackPodcastcom. That's where I post all the replays at Okay podcastcom. That's where I post all the replays at okay and so you can go through and listen and get your notebook and start applying some of this stuff. We are in july. July gonna be over within five minutes, okay, so I'm gonna take a real quick break and we'll be back.

Speaker 3:

Bye much fine gold. I can't help but say it's all true. It was some time ago since the day that I met you. And if it wasn one thing I know I could never forget you. It was like the sun had risen and shone through my soul and all the wrongs and hurts were given. Love had taken control.

Speaker 2:

All right. So today was part two of the seven streams of income Building income streams. Why you sleep things that you don't have to put in physical work for is kind of what my focus was for today and last week, and again you can catch the replay at publishedinblackpodcastcom. Okay, so I wanted to remind you guys the simple websites I did mention Stan's store you also have when you're ready for full websites. You have Wix and you have Shopify. Both of those allow you to sell digital products or physical products, okay, and they're kind of user-friendly.

Speaker 2:

Shopify is kind of difficult for those who are not tech savvy, but I do design Shopify websites, so you want to get at me if you are looking to get a Shopify website done. But listen, the thing is is to sit down and stop procrastinating. That is the whole, my whole thing about this. Stop procrastinating. Okay, coaching courses, licensing, speaking merch Some of y'all got t-shirts and stuff that you sell and nobody know about it Cause you just selling them to your church members or you just selling them to your friends and family. Get you a website up, or it could be a one page. You know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

But, um, and for those that are opposed to social media. Stop doing that. You leaving money on the table. You are leaving money on the table and you don't have to. So you want to examine all these? And social media is free. Let's just be honest it's free. It's free, so why not use it? It they're not charging us to post, you know.

Speaker 2:

So, um, because there's some of y'all still out there don't want to utilize social media, but, um, it's a benefit. It have helped me. Um, that's why I started my business on social media, literally going live on Periscope. Some of y'all don't know what Periscope is, but, um, I started there and um broke in Atlanta. I've mentioned that a few times and, man, I just stayed consistent. I stayed consistent, I studied my craft, I studied how to present it and that's what I did and I started. I got my first $5,000 client I keep calling her $5,000, but she ended up spending like $8,000 with me. She published two books with me and it went from there back to back to back, and that was just publishing. We're not even talking about when I started offering consulting and graphic design services and websites and all the other things that I do. So what I did was I created my seven streams. Thank y'all for following on TikTok. Y'all can follow me on TikTok and Black Writer Space. I was able to create my seven streams right inside of my lane.

Speaker 2:

Okay, and that's what you want to do, because it's nothing different. Not saying you can't do nothing different, but you want to master what you already know, how to do the gifts that you already have. You want to master those? Okay, and then, that way it's not. It's not so difficult to pivot when you need to pivot because it's all surrounding everything that I offer Client services, products, digital products, whatever. All of that is surrounding what I already do. So coaching came naturally Offering courses, webinars.

Speaker 2:

I've done webinars. I had a group on Facebook where I was teaching women how to create their own journals on Canva right? So these same resources that I give out to you guys on air. This is real life for me. This is absolutely what I do. I'm just now tapping into the selling the eBooks to the corporations and now focusing on local and state contracts and things like that. I'm just getting to that level, but y'all, I'm surrounded by people who are already doing it. That's the power of surrounding yourself with the right people. Ok, because if you around everybody broke guess what? Not going to happen. Nothing's going to happen. You're going to. You're going to stay broke. So you have to get around people who know more than you whether it's sitting in on a videos, going to watch some of their videos, all of that Take notes.

Speaker 2:

I set in on free webinars and I took notes and I wasn't applying and one day I decided to apply it. I didn't get nobody's approval. I decided to apply it and it worked and I started posting on Instagram consistently for 30 days and I got an email. The girls said I've been following your page and stalking you for 30 days. And I got an email. The girls said I've been following your page and stalking you for 30 days and I'm ready to publish my book. I already saw your prices. I mad you. I had just increased my prices from 3,000 to five grand. She wanted the five grand. It's always been like that. So when I tell you mindset is powerful, it's powerful. I just need you to apply it and I'll see y'all next time.

Speaker 1:

You have been listening to, Published in Black with publishing expert and brand strategist, Tiffany A Greenhood. Listen next week for real talk, powerful strategies and much more. Again, we thank you for listening.
