SPEAKER_01:Hey. Good afternoon. This is another Tuesday with Publish in Black Radio. I am your host, Tiffany A. Greenhood. And today we have a lot to cover. I want to uh drop some strategies today for you all to actually put some things in action. Last week I gave you 10 ways to monetize your message, but without action, it's just entertainment. So today I want to give you some actual steps to activate and put this thing into action. Okay, so we're gonna be talking about that. But first, I want to elaborate on this past weekend. It was absolutely amazing. Saturday, I had the uh do it scare masterclass weekend. If you all missed it, I don't know if y'all watched the news in the morning, but um, it's a great friend of mine. Actually, she's a client friend, so she's a client and we're also friends. She hosted her first do-it scare masterclass weekend event, and we were able to get her on uh what was it? WGN, Chicago WGN, Fox 32, and ABC 7. So I am really, really excited about that. And um, that was a great event. It was Saturday in Bowlingbrook, okay, and it was from 10 a.m. to 3. It was absolutely amazing. We did a panel discussion. I spoke on the panel. Um, we had a keynote speaker, they uh raffled off some things, it was absolutely amazing. So a handful of women left there ready to do its scare, whatever it is. Okay, so that was great. Then Sunday, we had DA Rhodes, which is um your favorite host here on Rejoice102. She is here with Norris during the week, Monday through Friday, Monday through Friday, 2 to 5 p.m. She had her annual authors brunch event, and it was absolutely amazing. If you follow me on Facebook, I do have um the video, some of the video clips and the stories. It was great. She had a great turnout, um, great guest speaker, featured authors, vendors. I was one of the vendors, it was amazing. Um, so congrats to her. That was absolutely amazing. And you want to make sure you connect with her on Facebook. She is DA Rhodes. And if you listen to her here on 102 read on uh rejoice102, she is uh Deborah Rhodes Petty Group. Okay, so I just wanted to shout them out really quick. Also, you want to make sure if this is your first time listening, or you have you listen to me every Tuesday and have not um you have not joined my email list, you want to do that. I'm making a lot of major changes, and you don't want to miss out what I have coming up, especially for 2026. Okay, so you will go to Publish in Black. Um, you know, I'm sorry, you will go to publishwithTiffany.com, join the email list, and then also um while you're there, you once you sign up for the email list, you will receive a free ebook. It is um marketing tips for authors, but also you can check out a lot of my digital products that I have there. Those digital products can help you with several several things, so just kind of check out everything about me, is there. So if you want to book a call with me, that's there. If you want to check out the magazine, publish in blackmagazine.com, you can do that as well. And then I have another um sister brand that I started called Black Um Dear Blackauthor. Okay, and so I am available on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, or what we call X Now under Black Writers Space. I'm also very active on TikTok. Now you can follow me on um Threads as well. I have tons of amazing content for authors on Threads. And don't forget, y'all, we launched the um Publishing Black Chamber of Commerce. So you want to go check out that website, okay? Don't miss out. If you're kind of confused, like, oh, what's that about? Go to the website. Go to the website. I have everything wrapped out for you. Um, it's amazing. Today is the last day to join for$97 Lifetime membership. You heard what I said, lifetime membership. That means that you join and you pay one time, you don't have to ever pay again. And today's the last day. So I have been running that um for at least two months now, and we're going to uh continue to move forward. Right now we have about seven, eight members now. So I'm excited um for those who have said yes during the process because I'm still building out the uh member portal, that is where authors can log in and take trainings and courses that they otherwise would have had to pay for, right? And what are the training and courses for? They are to help you get to the next level. So a lot of the things that I talk about on this show, you will be able to go in and actually learn for real, apply it to your business, your brand, or your book, and get to the money. At the end of the day, I'll show you how to get to the money. So let's jump in today. We are um learning how to take action on monetizing your message. It's the taking action part. Last week I gave you 10 uh ways to monetize your message and different things you can implement, but today we're gonna really talk about some action. Okay, so we are going to um talk about why people get stuck. Okay, a lot of you all get stuck. You may have taken the course, set through the webinar. Trust me, I've been there. Set through the webinar, um, took the course. You might even watch a YouTube video or came across some content that had a couple of steps and you still was kind of lost, right? So a lot of times when people get lost is um because they overthinking. It's so many, oh, I've talked to so many people who have overthought just even writing and publishing a book. Totally overthought it. And then I always say it depends on who you're talking to. Who are you talking to? Who you having conversations with, because that's gonna determine whether your stuff sits or whether it moves, period. And so the thing is is that you want to keep sitting or you want to start moving. You got to be around people and surround yourself with conversations that are gonna have you move and giving you the um information that you need. A lot of the times people stay stuck because of lack of information, lack of information, and then it could be that you're not looking for the information either. I mean, what are we doing? We can sit and talk about it all day long, we can listen to all these motivational things and and let it play while we sleep. But if we do not take action, nothing will happen. Okay, so hopefully somebody got that. All right, underpricing or overvaluing your expertise. Now don't come out here thinking you're gonna um sell your book for$500 because your story is just so powerful, right? So we gotta, you know, use common sense, you know, not saying to give away your book or your um course for free, but think logically. Make sure that even when you're pricing, if you're looking out for advice on that, make sure you talk to the right people. I told a young man I made so many connections at the author's brunch this weekend, and I told a young man, um, because they always want to know what I think. So he asked me, What did I think about him um getting with a traditional publisher? And my response was if they turn you down, then what? You know what I'm saying? So we had a little conversation about that, and because that's always um most authors' dream is to get published by um a big, huge, big box publishing company, and sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not, more so does not, and so um just not staying stuck in that place, right? Not staying stuck in that place to where if you get um denied that now you feel like oh it's not good enough, or they said no, so oh well, no, that ain't what we do. We is not we are not doing that. So um I've seen authors who wrote a whole book but never told anybody about it. What are we doing? These are just some of the things that um I come across all the time. If you don't market your book, I even had a client tell me that God told her not to market her book at all. You know, hey, I leave that stuff right where I said at the end of the day. You have to market, you have to talk about it, you have to un, I want to say unstick yourself, you have to get yourself unstuck. Okay, so don't get stuck in um trying to figure out price and trying to do too many things at one time. That's another thing that's very common that I see a lot. It's too many trying to do too many things because you're so um pressed to create those um seven streams that you feel like you're supposed to be, you know, launch this, launch this, launch this. And then what happens is okay, now you got 15 things launched instead of seven, and they're they're just sitting because you don't even know how to sell them, and you're not willing to invest into learning how to market them um accordingly. Everything has a strategy, everything has a plan. So, yeah, at the end of the day, we gotta um make sure you're getting the right coaching, okay, and the right content and the right strategies and steps to do what it is that you're trying to do. All right, how to choose your first strategy, okay? Rule of thumb is start where your audience is most ready to pay. Now, a lot of people are beginners and you don't even have an audience yet. So, my first thing to tell you as a strategy, you need to start building an email list. Those are the people who are definitely interested in what it is that you have to bring to the table. If you have 10 million followers and no one has joined your email list or you're not even offering one, guess what? They just following you, they are exactly what they're called, followers. So um, just throwing this in here before I give you this first strategy, um, how to pick your first strategy. Make sure you're building your email list. Too many entrepreneurs, business owners, I meet and they do not have an email list, they have no idea what it is or how to build it or whatever. Okay, so that's one thing. Look, that's something you can go look up on YouTube and learn how to do it. Okay, will I have a training on it? Absolutely, but you need to be inside the chamber to access it. All right, so uh rule of thumb, start where your audience is most ready. If you're an author, start with your book or a simple workbook. If you're a coach, start with a masterclass. That's good. If you're in products, start with a digital product or a digital, um, I'll say a digital download because we all know digital products, you download them instantly and you have access once you pay. Okay. And so um, we want to get out of the mindset of having products and services where we have to keep showing up and giving physical labor. Like you have to physically be present. I just told a guy at the author's brunch, we were um all at the same table eating, and he was so excited about his book. I asked him had he thought about adding a workbook to match it. And he said, No, I hadn't thought about that, but I am working on a course. Now he's working on a course, but he wants to physically teach the course, and it's nothing wrong with that, but I just still threw in there, you want to make sure that you record it so you can put it on autopilot, right? It's cool to teach it for the first time, but after that, you may not always have the time to okay, I gotta teach this course, and you gotta take out that time out of your schedule and all of that. Listen, we don't have enough hours in the day, so you want to make sure that you record it. If you want to do a course, you want to record it, you want to um put it on a platform that is auto offers the autopilot where you can do a digital video course. That means they purchase and they can play the course and you still at home sleep, right? But you are still able to educate them, you are still able to um give them the solution that they need. Okay, so um that's a game changer right there. And we're gonna go to break.
SPEAKER_02:Be under pain. I felt so unhappy said no one cared. You came along and gave me a song to ease the pain and erase the strain that you know that you promise me I can't stop.
SPEAKER_03:I made the show to keep you my dread. Now I rejoice you answer my breath, not a moment you say the way I embrace my feelings, you could have played all right.
SPEAKER_01:So we left off with if you're an author, start with a book or a simple workbook, or plus a simple workbook, that way you have a bundle. If you're a coach, start with a masterclass. If you are in products, start with digital download. All right, choose one strategy, commit to it for 30 days and block out the rest. I know that might be hard, but try it, it works. All right, and then you want to do a 30-day action plan, all right? So, for example, week one, outline your offer. What is your title, what is your topic, and who is your audience that is so important. Who is your audience? People be creating stuff and be like, oh, they yeah, people people look for this. Who is people? You got to know exactly who you creating that product for, from the cover to the title to the inside content. Who is it for? And then you slap it on social media and then get mad when you don't get no sales. Well, you don't know who you're selling to, so yeah, that's a whole rabbit hole. But um, we gotta do better, y'all. We gotta do better. Okay, so week one, um, outline your offer, title, topic, and audience. Week two, package it. Um, get the um inside formatted if need be, course outline, and journal template. Now, if you're doing all of this yourself, Canva is a great platform. Canva.com, if you've never heard of it, c a-n va.com. C-A-N-V-A.com. All right, um, price it. Uh, week three, price it and prep a simple sales page or link. You can also do that in Canva. Listen, Canva is the one-stop shop. If you sleep on Canva, you might want to go to YouTube and look up some trainings on Canva because you can do everything. Ask me how I know because that's the platform I use. Okay. And then week four, promote it daily on social media in your email list. See how that email list is still in there? It's still in there. All right. So a lot of this may be foreign to um people who are just getting started. YouTube is your best friend. If you have no budget, go to YouTube. It's tons of information on there that you can implement and get to the money. All else fails, you can always book a call with me, bookwith TiffanyNow.com. All right, click the discovery call and get booked so you can get on the phone with me and get some real answers and direction. All right. Then avoid common mistakes, don't price yourself too low. Cheap will not get you respect. I'm trying to tell you. It depends on that's what I told a guy yesterday. I said, now, should you do traditional or self-publishing? It depends on who you're having a conversation with. That's good. It depends on who you're having a conversation with, right? Because you could talk to somebody else about these very same topics and they'll tell you completely different things that will probably discourage you. Okay, so you gotta be careful who you're listening to. I say that all the time. All right, um, don't price yourself too cheap, don't ghost your audience. Consistency matters. Don't go live or announce something, and then you don't come back with it for six months. That's not how you build relationships. Starting to sell and build your business on social media is a relationship. If you're dating someone and you see them one time and then you don't hear from them no more, you're done. Okay, that's the same way that these people that you want to buy your digital product or whatever it is that you're selling, your book, your journal, the it's the same way. So keep that in mind. Don't ghost your audience. Consistency is a big deal. Don't compare your day one to someone else's year five. If I say it took me one year to make six figures, don't think that your story is gonna go the same way. And it's okay. We're not in a race, we're not in a race, okay? So don't compare yourself. Each person's um journey is different, it's unique and it's different. Just embrace all of it, definitely embrace your wins. I'll throw that in there. Quick motivational, um, fire. Every expert you admire, one started where you are one idea, one product, and one launch. That is so true. Okay, so I hope that um you are relating to some of these different things I'm talking about, because in my experience, this is what I find that clients deal with all the time. Okay, so let's recap. Pick one strategy, commit to it for 30 days, avoid the traps, and then have a call to action, meaning ask for the sale. Okay, so if it's download this ebook or grab this course or sign up for this webinar, that's your call to action. You're telling them what to do, and also I want to go over. Um, I you know, notice I use the word strategy a lot. So I want to go over a few things so that you're clear on what a strategy even is. Okay. Um, the definition of a strategy is a high-level plan of action designed to achieve a specific goal or set of goals. It's about deciding what to do, why to do, why to do it, and how to allocate resources, time, money, energy, people to reach the desired income. Okay, you got that. So, and then how to create a strategy. Define your visions and goals, understand your current position, know your audience and environment, choose your strategic priorities, design the plan of action, execute with discipline, measure and adjust. A simple formula to remember would be vision, analysis, choice, plan, action, measure, and adjust. That was a lie, but here's what I'm gonna tell you. You can go to after the show airs, I take the show and I upload it to my podcast. My podcast is on that link, publish with Tiffany, where you're gonna go to join my email list. You can then click on my podcast and listen to this replay and take notes if you're in a car driving or if you're at work. And so that link is published in black podcast.com. Publish in black podcast.com, and we're gonna take a break.
SPEAKER_04:Of your hand, your will for my life. I want to understand. Lord, forgive me like only you look for your God of us look.
SPEAKER_01:God is giving you a second chance, all right? A second chance to um tap in. October 1st is tomorrow. And we have October, November, and December. What have you done this year that you said you were gonna do? Right? We always leave some stuff out, but what did you get accomplished? And I just want to tell you that it's not too late to do some things every day. We know how many hours in the day, you know how many hours you have. If you're still working nine to five, you know you got those hours. What do you have planned for your off day or your free time? Right? Schedule some things out, some space out so you can actually get some things done still before December 31st. I always say on December 31st, hey Annette, um, on December 31st, I do not want to be looking crazy because I didn't do nothing that I said I was gonna do, or some of the most important things that um were important to me, you know what I'm saying? Is certain things on the list that are like, oh, that will take me to the next level, or that will help me do XYZ. Right. So you want to um examine your to-do list, and I make them all the time. Sometimes I make new to-do lists every day, or a few times a week, or a few times a month, and it's okay to do that as long as you are actually um getting things done, as long as you're being productive, getting to the goal. Um, your time frame is not gonna be like everybody else's, and you know, so hopefully this helps. Again, you can go listen to the replay at publishingblackpodcast.com. All of the replays from here at rejoice102.com are on my podcast website. Okay. Also, I want to remind you again, today is the last day to become a member of the uh publishing black chamber of commerce. Um, the website is published in blackchamber.org. Today is the last day to become a member, a lifetime member at$97 only. That's pennies, y'all. That is pennies compared to how many trainings I'm gonna have in that portal. That is pennies. So today is the last day. The price will go up tomorrow, and I'm so excited. But anywho, go to the website and just read about what it's about, why I created it, and what the purpose is. Okay, so um, what else did I want to talk about? 2026. You can look forward to um publishing black honor, honors, gala, and awards. I talk more about it on my social media. Um, that's why I say make sure you get on my email list. I have a lot coming up for 2026. But guess what? We do not start at the last minute to market, so I'm starting now.
