SPEAKER_00:Hey, this is Publish in Black Radio. I am your host, Tiffany A. Greenhood. And we are back. Today is um happy Tuesday. We are almost in complete, complete fall, y'all. This is um what is today, the 28th? We almost in November. So um today I have a little treat for you guys, and also I am um announcing that today is my last day here at Rejoice102, and um it's been amazing, but I'm moving along and elevating to other things. So be sure that if you have not already, uh, you can do it today. Go to publishwithtiffany.com. You want to make sure you join the email list because what I am doing is I'm going to be um still dropping all the gems, all the content, and everything that you need to succeed with your book, brand, or business. Right? So you want to make sure you go and get on my email list that is at publishwithTiffany.com. Make sure you go and check out the latest issue of Publishing Black magazine, which we just dropped uh a few days ago. So you want to go to Publishing Black magazine, you can access the digital copy of that and check out what um I got some really good gems in that issue. And make sure you um also you can join the email list to receive updates just about the magazine period. But once you opt in to Publish in Black, uh Publishwick Tiffany.com, you can everything about me is there. So join the email list, and that way you can stay updated and everything. We do have our first um publish and black honors, awards, and gala coming up for 2026. All right, so you don't want to miss that, and we are not going to start um promoting and selling tickets in 2026. We're gonna start this year before the end of this year, okay. So you want to be able to make sure that you can access all of the updates and you don't miss anything, okay. Also, you want to go and check out the um publishing black chamber of commerce. You can go to publish and blackchamber.org, okay, and get the um information that you need pertaining to that. That's kind of like your own personal community that can educate you. I have already started dropping courses, some courses that you typically don't get from your average uh book coach, let me say that, or um book publisher, okay. Y'all out here putting out books and you're still not educated on what to do with it, um how to do it, and why you need to be doing it, okay? Not until something comes up and then you're looking like, oh wow, I don't have that, I don't have a bio, I don't have professional images. Hello. Okay, so you know that um you have to stay grounded and ready, not so that you don't have to get ready, okay? So make sure you just go and you join the email list, check out the chamber. Um, I am, I think I still have the lifetime membership up right now for just 97 bucks. Lifetime. That means you never pay again. Hello. So I am um the courses that's in there and the courses that I've been dropping, like it's crazy, y'all. We're gonna be talking about government contracts, we're gonna be talking about um the government contracts and then the um you know how to get how to get yourself on TV, how to get on your local morning show, you know what I'm saying? Like how to get seen, it's all about visibility. So that is um definitely what we are doing. So today is um my last show here, and I just want to say that it's been amazing. If you have missed any of the shows and you want to go back, this may be your first time listening, um, or if you've been listening and just kind of maybe missed some things, you still never went back to take notes. Keep in mind you can go and you can listen to all the replays on um publishingblackpodcast.com. That is where I host my podcast, my own very own podcast. So I take these episodes and I upload them to the podcast every Tuesday. Okay, so you can scroll through there and see what topics you may have missed. Grab your notebook, take some notes because I'm always dropping something that you're gonna need either right now or in the near future. Keep that in mind, all right. So let me um, I am having a time pulling up my notes today. The internet is not my friend right now. So I do want to um chime in and just talk about like I was saying yesterday to a friend of mine, I don't particularly care for um what we've been taught in our community when it comes to business, you know. And again, when I say business, I'm talking about a book, a brand, whatever you got going on, right? Um, it could be a business that doesn't have anything to do with a book, but um we have been kind of like shoved to the side when it comes to um promoting ourselves marketing, just not really knowing how to market ourselves in a professional manner. And so, and and we've always been told that, oh, you gotta get your name out there. All those little phrases to me are just broke conversation. Okay. And so I kind of wanted to um chime in on that today because I'm like, we've been told, you know, you you gotta wait till you get your name out there, and and it's like, well, wait a minute, how do I get my name out there? I want to talk about that today because I want to cancel that out. Because here's the thing all these little different phrases and stuff we've heard and people say, and they still say it today, they still say this stuff. I need for you to totally delete all that garbage. Delete it. Because here's the thing they saying you gotta wait till you get your name out there and this and that. Hey, hey, hey, hey. But then we have these scriptures that say God made your name great. Come on now. Which one you gonna roll with? You gonna roll with that, like you are nobody until you make a million dollars? What if you never get to the millions? Period. Like I was having this conversation yesterday with a friend of mine, and I'm like, you know what? That's really what I want to talk about. I want to be able to take the limits off so you can remember who you are. Okay, knowing who you are beyond systems, titles, and social validation. That part, even with social media, with the benefits of social media and all the great things we can do with it, you know, like we can reach more, um, we can reach more of our audience and and who our brand or our message or our book speaks to. We can do all of that across social media, but at the same time, there's still this stigma out there to where if you don't have 10,000 followers, if you don't have um, if you're not popular, right, then you don't matter. And so I want to cancel all that out today because for years we've been taught that success looks like being accepted, validated, or approved by systems that were never built with us in mind. Come on now. And we're not even talking about a racial thing, I'm talking about just us, just us. Because there's still a separation in our community. There's still a separation. Y'all done seen it, y'all just don't say nothing, right? So I want to I wanna um cancel a lot of that stuff out today. Um, knowing your identity, like just you have to sit down, and this is why it's important to study exactly who you're speaking to, who is your product for, who is your whatever your thing is. You may have a nonprofit, you may not even hide no products or anything, you may have a nonprofit and just something where you want to just support a group of people that are dealing with XYZ, right? Do you know you can find your group of people and they will be glad that they found you because you have that support and that voice that they've been looking for? It's simple. You don't have to have a million followers to do that. You simply gotta show up, okay? So it's just so many simple things that we have looked over, but then we're always shot down when it comes to just trying to get some inform inspiration from some of our own people. They could be family members, they could be so-called friends, and they don't really pay attention to you until you so-called what they call blow up. We ain't gotta do that no more. So I I really wanted to like just let you know today that you can become whatever it is you want to become, you can accomplish whatever it is you want to accomplish. All you gotta do is put the work in, go study it, get all your details, you know, and just start working on it. Start from nothing. Most of the things that I have built, I started from nothing. People look at me and they're like, Oh wow, oh, but I didn't wake up like this. I didn't wake up like this, so I just need for you to know you have to put the work in, but don't, and then it's not a race. It's not a race. I need for you to know that it is not a race. Okay, you can take your time one day at a time. I just got back in the gym 90 days ago, down 15 pounds on my own, even before I even got in the gym, right? So it's so much information out here. Go and study whatever it is that you're trying to do or accomplish or whatever goals you got going on, and let's start now. Let's not wait till January 1st. Don't do that. Start now. You could have started in June. But if you haven't, I'm giving you permission to start today. Okay, so um, another thing I want to talk about is um what has publishing black taught us? Let's reflect on the journey. We have talked about self-publishing to branding from mindset to marketing, covering all publish and black agendas, okay? But building, you know, I try to talk to y'all about building a legacy. That's really what it's about. So whether you do it through a book, whether you do it through um your own business, um, your own voice, it can be just you starting and going live on Facebook or going live on TikTok. We got so many other platforms now outside of Facebook, but start where you're comfortable. The important part is that your voice is heard, your message is um heard and is reaching those that are looking for what you have, not just anybody. A lot of times we start and we start like promoting and trying to market what we got going on to our family, they not our people. Most of the time, the folk you know is not for you. They they're not they're not thinking about what you're doing. They're gonna buy from somebody else or support somebody else before they support you. That's just how it goes. But if you start to show up, you can reach those who are looking for you, who have been looking for a voice just like yours to give them what they need to keep going with their stuff. Ask me how I know. I started with zero followers on every social media platform. I started with zero, and that zero turned into me showing up consistently, me coming with just the little information that I knew about self-publishing because that's that was my topic. Right now I can get on and talk about anything, and people follow and they connect, and then they spend money, period. It's building relationships. So I just want you all to know that um it's not you know like you'll never get there, but you have to put the work in. And putting the work in just means taking time out to start somewhere, and with that being said, we're gonna take a break.
unknown:Make some noise.
SPEAKER_05:Come on, y'all. Make some noise, make some noise, everybody.
SPEAKER_04:Come on, let's rock. Everybody, come on, put your hands up there. Make some noise.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, yes, the best is yet to come. I'm telling y'all. Prepare for 2026. Now you should already be in 2026. Your brain should already be there. Period. So, um, I want to reflect on some of the um some of my favorite or most impactful shows that we've done right here on Rejoice 102. Um Let me see. Beyond the Book Sale where I talked about seven streams. This is why I want y'all to really go to the podcast, um, publishingblackpodcast.com. Go to the podcast and listen to some of the previous shows. It's some major gems in there that will help you get to the next level. Um, and then the missing piece in book marketing, the power of message over marketing. Now, one of my other favorites is the anthology. Um, how to make 50k before your book is published, written or published. That that always grabs people, like, wait, what? Huh? Huh? I could do that. Yes, you can. So you want to go, I'm not gonna talk about it right now, but you definitely want to go and listen to that episode. How to make 50k before your book is written or published. Okay, so I'm just gonna leave that sitting right there. Um let's talk about lessons learned and core teachings. You don't need permission to be powerful. That's what we're talking about today, actually. I'm always implementing that because it's too many things that just come and just knock y'all down, and you just be like, oh, okay. Well, I can't do this until I do this, or I can't do this because I'm not up here yet, or I can't do this because I ain't got this amount of money. Stop with the excuses. Please. Everything I pretty much started with zero. Now I did have a couple of different um, you know, gifts already because I knew how to design my own stuff, so I didn't have to pay anybody to design my magazine. I designed my magazine myself, right? I didn't have to pay anybody to um what I do, the magazine, the the publishing company. I just started putting the pieces together. I published my own book, you know. I didn't have to pay anybody to do my um book covers for my books, just you know, different stuff I can kind of piece together, but I still have resources. There are episodes that I have done on this station where I'm giving you those gems. That's why it's important to go listen to some of those episodes where you can still get your professional book cover done for under a hundred dollars, right? Sometimes you do have to invest something if you don't have, you know, like I was able to do my own stuff. I get it. Everybody can't do that if you're trying to uh publish a journal. A lot of y'all want to do prayer journals and just don't know how to get started. Do you understand? There are videos on YouTube you can tap into and you can listen and watch and learn exactly how to do it. But that don't cost you no money, that's cost you time, it costs you time and and how serious you are. But there's a video on YouTube for everything, absolutely everything. So there's no excuses. All right, faith and strategy equal results. God gives the vision, but we must steward it with structure. Hello, come on now. All of these prophecies and words spoken over your life, and well, yeah, they said I was gonna be this, and they said I was gonna publish a book and it was gonna be a bestseller. Okay, now what? Because I'm over all of that. Um I don't have no more time to sit and listen to none of them stories no more. What you about to do with all this? What you gonna do with it? Okay, you publish your book. Now what you gonna do with it? The book is published, done, looks amazing. What you gonna do with it now? You started the business, you got your social media set up and everything. Now, what you gonna do? You just gonna sit back and wait because you just think that it's gonna happen. No, it's not. You have to put in work, you have to get out there and let people know that you exist, what you got to offer. There are marketing videos on YouTube as well. Just putting that out there. So, your message is your movement. Books open doors, but your message keeps them open. Hello, let me read that one more time. Books open doors, but your message keeps them open. What? I hope y'all are catching this today. Community is the real currency, and that's how you build community by what I was talking about. Going live, showing up because that's how I started. That still works today. There are certain things that change and evolve when it comes to social media, but there are some things that are still the same, and building relationships through your content has not changed, has not changed. I have acquired five thousand, eight thousand, ten thousand dollar clients on Instagram through my content because I kept dropping content, I kept hitting their pain points. It's a method to the madness. This is why sometimes you need a coach, right? To show you how to attract the people that you're speaking to. Book, business, product, whatever it is. There's a method to it. We can't just go out there and be like that is no, and that's what a lot of y'all do. So, um, I hope this helping somebody today. I really do. Um, so anywho, what are we going to do in preparing? We're almost in November. What are you gonna do to prepare for 2026? That's what I want to know. What are you gonna do? Because what you've been doing is not working. What you've been talking about doing, a lot of people do a lot of talking. I even find myself do it in certain areas sometimes, and I'm like, okay, girl, you've been talking enough. It's time to put some stuff to action. Period. Because I get it. I understand that things did not happen. I did not reach my goals. You know, I didn't launch my magazine, my chamber, my publishing company. I didn't start getting um paid clients. I didn't have thousand-dollar days and three thousand dollar days and five thousand dollar days until I stopped talking about it and I put action to work, whatever that was. Okay, whatever that strategy was, right? And so um, I really just want to encourage you guys today to not continue the rest of the year with just like talking about what you're gonna do, but to go ahead and put the action in. Yeah, you may still be working a nine to five, but guess what? You put in X amount of hours for them. How many are you putting in for yourself and your own dreams per week or per day? What day have you set aside to work on? Just your own stuff, right? What weekend have you set aside to where you ain't got time to go out and party, but you want to work on your own projects? Think about that, and we're gonna take a break.
SPEAKER_06:You can turn it off. It's hard to understand sometimes. How do I make sense of everything gold?
SPEAKER_07:Maybe it's not our So we have to go. Simply try to make the most days, and that faith that somehow we will find our way.
SPEAKER_06:So count it all joy all that you're comfortable, even when you're feeling down, count it all joy.
SPEAKER_00:Count it all joy. I want to leave you guys with something. Um, as I close this chapter of Publishing Black Radio, I speak this over you. May you never forget who you are. May you walk boldly in your calling, publish without fear, and prosper without limits. Let me say that last part again. Prosper without limits. Take the limits off. Forget what they said, forget what they told you, forget what they spoke over your life, cancel all that out, and you start to speak words of life over anything that you are putting your hands to. Okay. It starts in your mind. So if you think bad about it, then that's what you're gonna get. That's gonna be your portion. But if you think that this is going to be bigger than you ever imagined, guess what? It can be. Okay. I am Tiffany A. Greenhood, and this has been Publish in Black Radio on Rejoice102.com. Remember, the message is the movement, the mission continues, but until next time, stay published, stay powerful, and stay black.
unknown:Make some noise. Come on, y'all.
SPEAKER_05:Make some noise. Make some noise.
SPEAKER_04:Come on, let's rock. Everybody, come on, put your hand up there. Make some noise.
SPEAKER_01:You have been listening to Published in Black with publishing expert and brand strategist Tiffany A. Greenhood. Listen next week for real talk, powerful strategies, and much more. Again, we thank you for listening.
